Marietta, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania-As Spring arrives, gardeners around the area start planning and preparing for the most beautiful symphony Mother Nature has to offer. They choose carefully plants and flowers that compliment and highlight each other, just as musicians choose their music so all the notes and instruments come together creating a beutiful work of art.
To celebrate the 10th Annual Marietta Garden Tour, the theme this year is "A Symphony of Gardens." While Mother Nature is creating a symphony among the flowers and plants, strolling musicians and musicians in the gardens will create an atmosphere that will allow people to take time out and enjoy the world around them.
The Garden Tour will be held Sunday 8 June 2003 from 10am-5pm and will feature six gardens all in walking distance once again. It will be a day filled with musical talent, garden beauty and family entertainment. The musicians will be playing a variety of music that will appeal to all ages.
While it is a little hard to picture green and flowering gardens laying dormant under all the snow, spring is just around the corner, and what better time to get out and enjoy the warmer weather. The Garden Tour provides the opportunity to see the secret gardens of Marietta. It also allows folks to share ideas about gardening, what works and what doesn't.
The Garden Tour attracts visitors from other counties as well as people passing through from out of state. It offers a look into the past, but also gives a clear vision of Marietta today.
Tickets will be available prior to the tour as well as the day of and will be for sale in various locations such as Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce, Madigan's Pot of Gold, and the Holiday Gift Shop to name a few.
